The new version of ABAL, known as Open Abal has been extended by the addition of a PARQUET reader and writer library.This allows a direct connection between Open Abal applications and third party Big Data processing systems and platforms.

The PARQUET Writer section of the library offers the following functions:

  1. Parquet Create File
  2. Parquet Create Column
  3. Parquet Write Row
  4. Parquet Flush

The PARQUET Reader section of the library offers the following functions:

  1. Parquet Open File
  2. Parquet Get Column Count
  3. Parquet Get Row Count
  4. Parquet Read Row
  5. Parquet Close

The PARQUET Writer and Reader functions can handle the following encodings

  • PLAIN
  • DICTIONARY
  • RLE Hybrid

and can handle fragmented files stored across multiple file locations.

Subsequently, your ABAL applications can be accessed, by users, from anywhere in the world.

The new version of ABAL,  known as Open Abal, will allow your ABAL Applications to be used from any of the standard, commercial, modern platforms:

  1. Windows PC
  2. Apple Mac
  3. Android Pad and Phone
  4. Apple iPhone and iPad

Subsequently, your ABAL applications will no longer be restricted to use from the limited range of proprietary thin clients.

Open Abal – Open Data

The new version of ABAL,  known as Open Abal, will allow your ABAL Applications to store their data on the standard, commercial, modern SQL Database Systems:

  1. MySQL 8
  2. PostgreSQL 12

Subsequently, your ABAL applications will no longer be confined to the previous legacy database system of CRITERIA.
