The Sound Stream Platform allows you to broadcast your live performances using specific equipment that permits the capture and mixing of the audio and video components of your program content. This must then be processed to deliver a H264/AAC stream up to the origin server of the content delivery network of your performance stream.

Onsite Program Capture
The following different scenarios are possible for the capture of your program content depending on the quality and production
requirements.

  1. Multi Camera Production
The Video component of the performance will be captured by a collection of video cameras as required to achieve the desired video mixing potential.Cameras may be HDMI or SDI and should all be configured to the same frame rate and characteristics in terms of resolution and interlacing. An industry standard Video switcher will be used to preview and edit the video output in real time.
The Audio component of the performance will be captured using Industry Standard sound engineering equipment comprising microphones, mixing desk and effects to be delivered to the program editor via a standard dual XLR R/L feed.
The Output from the video and audio mixing will be processed by the onsite computer for the production of the final program for dynamic upload to the origin server of the content delivery network in the cloud. The quality of the internet connection is of utmost importance and is the ultimate limiting factor on the final quality of the streaming program.
  2. Desktop Production
The Audio and Video components of the performance will be captured by the webcam and microphone of your laptop or desktop computer and will be streamed out over your local internet connection to the Sound Stream Origin server.
  3. Mobile Phone Production
The Audio and Video components of the performance will be captured by the camera and microphone of your Apple iPhone/iPad or Android Device and will be streamed out either over your local WIFI or using your 4G connection to the Sound Stream Origin server.

Sound Stream Content Delivery Network
The Sound Stream Content Delivery Network provides the world wide streaming service and comprises the following aspects.

  1. Account Creation or Login
The artist, or their production team representative will create their Sound Stream account, login and define their content delivery network characteristics.
  2. Origin Server
To ensure best quality delivery performance, the configuration of the Sound Stream content delivery network instance should ensure that the origin server is located in the same region as the onsite program content production.
  3. Audience Regions
The Sound Stream content delivery network instance should be defined for the audiences connecting from the different regions of the world, europe, asia and america
  4. Audience Size
The overall number of anticipated viewers should be specified to ensure optimal startup and operational conditions.
  5. Stream Activation
The defined content delivery network instance will then be started. This will take a variable amount of time depending on the number of audience regions defined and the overall size of the anticipated audience.
  6. Stream Connection
When the content delivery network is operational then the output from the onsite program production unit may be connected to the domain name of the origin server of the stream instance.

Audience Viewer Connection
When the content delivery network is operational and the program production has been connected, then viewers from the different world regions will connect to the Sound Stream Platform public web site to access the Stream Endpoint URL. After online payment, where this is required, the audience viewers will be connected to the regional redirection endpoint corresponding to the region from which they are connecting.

Audience Viewer Type
